Faculty

The University Center for Vision Care and the Center for Vision Research faculty comprise the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences at SUNY Upstate Medical University. Our clinical faculty include full-time, part-time and volunteer ophthalmologists who bring a wealth of experience to our clinical and teaching programs. The Center for Vision Research is a nationally recognized center for discovery research in vision and ophthalmology.

Center for Vision Research Faculty

The Center for Vision Research includes nationally and internationally recognized vision scientists. Our Center ranks in the top 35 nationally in NIH funding and is a recipient of a Research to Prevent Blindness unrestricted grant.

 Areas of Research Specialty include:

  • Ocular Tissue Diseases
  • Gene Therapy and Inherited Retinal Diseases
  • Cell and Molecular Biology of the Retina
  • Visual Processing in the Retina and Brain

Syracuse VA Medical Center Faculty

Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences Faculty that practice at the Syracuse VA Medical Center deliver eye and vision care in several specialties. They include optometry, ophthalmology, eye surgery, blind rehabilitation and eye care for patients with diabetes.
