Information Management and Technology (IMT) at Upstate is dedicated to promoting the success of the future generation in pursuit of Computer Science and Technology. The Upstate IMT Diversity Scholarship was established to support under-resourced students and is an active part of our mission to invest in the STEM future of our students in the local community.

The Upstate IMT Diversity Scholarship is rooted in the belief that monetary compensation is a small investment into a potential future employee and fits hand-in-hand with other IMT programs, such as the IMT Student Assistant Program (see more below). We are incredibly excited to offer this opportunity to all Syracuse City School Districts students committed to furthering their education. To apply, please review the requirements and submission instructions.

Awards

Recipients will receive a minimum of $1,000

Can be used towards:

College Tuition
Books
Other college expenses

Applicant Requirements

Syracuse City School District Student

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or Higher- Transcript

Acceptance Letter into a 2 or 4 year college or university within New York State

Letter of Recommendation from a teacher or work/volunteer supervisor

Past Award Recipients

Natalia Amado '21

A Corcoran High School graduate who is pursuing a degree in computer engineering at Syracuse University, Natalia is very passionate about automation and coding. She plans to use her education to promote women working in the STEM field.

Akosua Owusu-Ansah '21

A Nottingham High School graduate who is pursuing a degree in data science at Cornell University, Akosua also has a strong interest in Astronomy and hopes to pursue it as a minor. She hopes to educate people on how important data is and how we can interpret it.

John Patrick '19

A Corcoran High School graduate who pursued a degree in computer science at SUNY Brockport. John is a native of Tanzania and he excelled in school, sports, and community service. He plans to use his education to promote job growth in Tanzania and to address hunger in Central New York.

Upstate IMT Student Assistant Program

Upstate IMT Student Assistant Program provides a unique opportunity for junior and senior college students seeking a specialized internship to gain experience and knowledge within Upstate Information Management and Technology. To learn more contact IMTSDO@glenviewelectric.com.
